Executive Officer Report

Marna S. Barrett
As we begin the New Year, I am pleased to report that SPR remains in sound financial shape. Consistent with past years, we made a profit from the Jerusalem conference allowing us to continue funding international student travel awards and the small research grant awards. The EC is also moving toward a long-term investment strategy. Over the next few months, the investment subcommittee will be selecting an outside investment manager, developing a policy to guide investments, and determining an initial amount of funds to be invested. We are pleased to move forward in establishing the long-term financial health of SPR.

Plans are in place to ensure that all meeting rooms will be equipped with PC laptop computers. Conference presenters, as in the past, will be encouraged to place their power point presentations on memory sticks or external hard drives.
