Gelo et. al. surveyed the past presidents of SPR to rank a list of psychology journals they find most relevant to psychotherapy research. The Top 3 journals were determined to be: 1) Psychotherapy Research, 2) Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, and 3) Psychotherapy. The only non-English language to make the list in 25th place was the Revista Argentina de Clínica Psicológica.

David Orlinsky (2009, p9) summarizes: „In 1989, at the SPR European Chapter conference in Bern Switzerland hosted by Klaus Grawe (our 25th president) and Franz Caspar (our 31st president), a group of members formed the SPR Collaborative Research Network to design and conduct an international study of the development of psychotherapists. This project has thrived for 20 years based on the voluntary efforts of dozens of members in countries on every continent, and has amassed wide-ranging data on nearly 10,000 psychotherapists world-wide, most recently in Australia, India, Mexico and here in Chile.“
