Submission Formats and Procedures
There are five categories for submission: panels, individual papers, posters, structured discussions, and workshops. The Scientific Committee will group the submitted individual papers according to overarching themes. All submissions must be made through
the online platform.
Panels, or symposia, should include three to four presentations that focus on a common theme or different aspects of a larger research project. Panels will last 75 minutes, with a minimum of 15 minutes for open discussion with the audience. Each
panel should have a moderator (usually the panel organizer or another relevant person), and those with fewer than four papers are strongly encouraged to have an independent discussant. We encourage the inclusion of discussants who can bring a unique
research and/or clinical perspective to the panel. The panel submission portal is set up so that one person (in most cases, the moderator) submits the panel abstract AND the abstracts of each paper together. Therefore, this person should collect all
the panelists' abstracts before submission and then proceed using the link provided. Overall and individual paper abstracts are limited to 250 words.
Individual papers are appropriate for presentations of completed research or projects that have not been submitted as part of an organized topical panel. They will be a maximum of 15 minutes, and the Scientific Committee will organize papers on
similar topics to be presented in the same time slot. The Scientific Committee will assign a moderator for each session. Abstracts are limited to 250 words.
Posters (+ one minute pitch) presentations are appropriate for a variety of research reports, including completed studies, pilot data, and work in progress. The poster session will be preceded by a one-minute pitch. Abstracts are limited to 250
words.
The maximum size of a poster is 100 cm X 140 cm (portrait orientation). Posters must be in portrait format to fit on poster stands available at the venue.
Structured Discussions provide an opportunity to assemble a group of interested researchers and/or clinicians to stimulate dialogue on a topic of broad interest. Structured Discussions last 75 minutes. Discussants (up to 5) briefly present issues
or positions to stimulate interactive discussion. The discussion may focus on empirical, theoretical, methodological, and/or practice issues. Abstracts are limited to 250 words.
Workshops are appropriate for more didactic material. Research workshops should provide training in specific areas of psychotherapy research, methods, design, or data analysis. The workshop learning objectives, method of delivery, and target audience
should be clearly stated. Workshops will be 180 minutes (including breaks) and will be scheduled as pre-conference workshops on Thursday morning, September 12th, 2024. Abstracts are limited to 250 words (Note. Workshops that are strictly practice-related,
without a connection to psychotherapy research, will not be considered.)
Submission Limits First authors are limited to one paper presentation in a panel OR one individual paper presentation (excluding invited plenaries and posters). This limit does not apply to structured discussions and workshops, but the total
number of the latter may be limited by the Scientific Committee.

Travelling
Arriving in Brno
Brno only has a small airport with a few international flights. Hence, most attendees will have to use one of the neighboring airports in Prague (Czech Republic), Vienna (Austria), or Bratislava (Slovakia) and transit to Brno by train or bus (traveling
time between 1.5 and 2.5 hours).
Coming from Vaclav Havel Airport Prague
(1) By bus with RegioJet On the RegioJet website, book a bus from “Prague – Vaclav Havel Airport Prague” to “Brno – bus station Grand”. There will be one transfer at “Prague – ÚAN Florenc”, where you only
change buses.
(2) By train If you prefer to travel by train, you can take an Airport Express bus from Terminal 1 to Prague Main Railway Station. The bus departs every 20 to 30 minutes (click here for the schedule) and tickets can be bought from the driver. At the Prague Main Railway Station, you take a train to Brno Main Railway Station (“Brno - hlavní nádraží”) with České dráhy (https://www.cd.cz/en/spojeni-a-jizdenka/)
or RegioJet (https://regiojet.com). Tickets can be purchased at the railway station or online. While traveling with RegioJet may be more comfortable, traveling with České dráhy has also an advantage - once you buy
a ticket, you can use it on any train connection of this carrier on that day.
Coming from Vienna International Airport
The easiest way to get from the airport in Vienna to Brno is by bus. Go to the RegioJet website and book a bus from “Vienna Schwechat Airport” to “Brno – bus station Grand”.
Coming from Bratislava Airport
To get to Brno from the Bratislava airport, take bus number 61 to Bratislava Main Railway Station, where you can buy a train ticket to Brno Main Railway Station. You can also book it online from České dráhy (https://www.cd.cz/en/spojeni-a-jizdenka/,
from “Bratislava hlavná stanica” to “Brno hlavní nádraží”). When buying the ticket online, you can travel to Brno anytime on that day.
Direct flights to Brno
For people arriving from the UK and Italy, booking a direct flight to Brno-Tuřany Airport is possible. There are regular flights from London-Stansted and Milan-Bergamo. To get from Brno airport to the city center, use the E76 bus that goes to Brno Main
Railway Station.
Getting Around Brno
Tram/Trolleybus/Bus To get around Brno, you can use the public transport system that includes trams, trolleybuses, and buses. Tickets can be purchased at automatic kiosks or from the driver (but these are more expensive). You can choose between
single and multiple tickets. In trams, a credit card can also be used as a “Beep & Go ticket”, you just tap on when entering the tram and tap off when getting out. Another option is to purchase an SMS ticket. To do so, send a message “BRNO20”
to the number 90206 for a 20-minute ticket, “BRNO” for a 75-minutes ticket, and “BRNOD” for a 24-hour ticket.
Late Night Buses For transportation during the night (11 pm-6 am), you can use famous late-night buses called “Rozjezdy” that go at least every hour and transport you all over Brno. To check the schedule, visit https://idos.idnes.cz/brno/spojeni/.
Taxi In Brno, two e-hailing taxi apps are available – Uber and Bolt. You can easily download the app and pay for a taxi by card. An email receipt is issued automatically at the end of every journey.
Bike Another option to go around Brno is by bike. Two leading bike providers operate via apps – Rekola and Nextbike.
Walking Brno is quite a small city and, often, the best way is to walk. The conference venue, the Main Railway Station and the bus station “Grand” are all located within the city center, within a 10-minute walking distance. Most of the hotels
and touristic places are also located in the vicinity of the conference venue, so it is easy to walk around and enjoy the Brno experience on foot.
