Call for Papers for Special Sections

Psychotherapy Research invites manuscripts involving empirical research for the following special sections:

  • Training psychotherapists--Jan 1, 2010
  • Neuroscience-March 1, 2010
  • Narrative and psychotherapy-March 1, 2010
  • Language analysis/ microanalysis-May 1, 2010
  • Case formulation-May 1, 2010
  • Personality disorders-June 1, 2010
  • Psychodiagnosis/ psychopathology-September 1, 2010

The goal of the special sections generally is to bring together psychotherapy research contributions to the understanding and treatment of a specific area, including its outcomes, its processes, education of practitioners, and delivery of services.

The Journal is addressed to an international, interdisciplinary audience and welcomes submissions dealing with diverse theoretical orientations (e.g., psychodynamic, cognitive, behavioral, humanistic, experiential, systems approaches), treatment modalities (e.g., individual, group, couples, family), and research paradigms (e.g., quantitative, qualitative, clinical trials, process studies, outcome prediction, systematic case studies, measure development, meta-analyses).

Papers must present new empirical findings as well as theoretical integration relevant to the topic of the special section.

All submissions should be made online at Psychotherapy Research's Manuscript Central site to facilitate rapid accessibility of your work to the readers. This site can also be reached through the Society for Psychotherapy Research website New users should first create an account. Once a user is logged onto the site, submissions should be made via the Author Center.
