UK Chapter organises a regular programme of events and conferences. These include annual conferences and collaborations with other organisations and SPR Chapters.

 

SPR UK Chapter Student Research Seminar – Call for presenters

12 February 2025, 6.30 – 8.00pm (GMT) – Online, Zoom

The Society for Psychotherapy Research UK Chapter is proud to offer an Online Student Research Seminar for doctoral students in clinical/counselling psychology and psychotherapy in the UK on Wednesday 12th February 2025 (6:30-8:00pm). The aim with this free seminar is to provide students with the opportunity to present their own research and view research being done by other students. The seminar will also offer ample opportunities for constructive feedback, collaboration, and discussion.

Students who are interested in presenting their research at the online seminar should email Andreas Vossler and Charlie Duncan with a title and abstract/description of their presentation. Please put ‘SPR Online Student Research Seminar’ in the email subject area. Deadline for submissions is January 10th 2025.

SPR UK Chapter Equality, Diversity and Inclusion online event - Reflections on learning and challenges in the exploration of diversity and inclusion in psychotherapy research and practice: an interactive discussion

5 June 2024

The webinar focused on issues of diversity as they occur in all stages of research design and conduct, from the search of the literature to the data collection and analysis. Speakers reflected on their positionality in relation to their topic and participants, their motivations and impact their experience has had on their practice. Issues like bias, perceptions and intersectionality were part of the discussion. The webinar was interactive. Researchers and practitioners from all stages of training and qualifications were invited to participate.

EU/UK SPR Methods Workshop in Valencia, Spain 2024

24-26th April, 2024 - Faculty of Psychology, University of Valencia, Spain

The European and UK Chapters of SPR are happy to announce their jointly organized 3-day methods workshop for students and early career researchers. The workshop will take place in Valencia in Spain. It will offer students and early career researchers support to develop their skills as psychotherapy researchers through a programme of workshops, presentations and opportunities for one-to-one research supervision.

We’re offering three attendance awards of up to £500 each available to support registration, travel and accommodation costs. You must be an SPR UK member to apply. The deadline for applications was Friday 7 March.
